Foosball

So we had a foosball tournament the other day, and it was fun. It was for teams of two (of course, it's hard to fit any more people in a foosball table), and you had to choose a name for the team, and when that was decided, send an email to the right person on time.

This proved to be too difficult for some people, who failed to do it and ended up trying to do it the very day of the tournament. So of course in order to accommodate all these late comers, some arrangements had to be made, you can see in the collage one guy trying to figure that out. They ended up having to eliminate just to get in the tournament.


So Anyway, at 17:00 the tournament started, with only a few people knowing if it had started yet or not, but already some fans had showed up, and quickly everyone was up to speed.

This is quite an international organization, there were quite a few countries with representation, among them we could find Turkey (who ended up being the champions), Switzerland, India, Argentina, Russia, USA and, of course, Costa Rica.

There some good teams, some better teams and some not so much, but it was fun anyway. Some people were not all that experienced, and used the good ol' blender style, seemed like more they were making some whipped cream than playing foosball.
Some others seemed to have done this a lot more often than studying back in college, but those were still having a bit of a hard time fighting the blender style back.

When round two came up, the games were getting a little more interesting, and a little longer as well, there wasn't so much whipped cream going on, and some pretty good plays were shown. By now, the crowd was getting pretty excited, the beer was flowing, the pizza was being eaten like there's no tomorrow and with every good play they all went: "Uuuuuuh!", "Aaaaaaah!".

Semifinals, Third place and the Final were pretty good game, there are some pretty good people playing by now (the ones that didn't do studying as much as foosball back in college, remember??) and well, the champoins are turkish like a said, after a pretty exciting game. La vara es que aquí en la oficina hicieron un tornero de futbolín (o futbolito o como sea que le digan donde estés). Era en parejas, y había que escoger un nombre para el equipo. Felipe y yo nos metimos, el equipo se llamaba DUI Team, por razones obvias para la mayoría de los que lean esto, jeje.

Nos terminó yendo como un culo, la primer partida nos tocaba con los que terminaron siendo campeones, creo que si nos hubiera tocado con otro equipo, alguno de los ralitos, probablemente hubieramos llegado a pasar más allá, tal vez y hasta las semi finales, pero bueno, por lo menos el no tener que jugara más desde temprano nos dio chance para echarnos unas cuantas pascas, sabor!

Parece que la compañía es la que patrocinó el evento, entonces había birras por montón, pizza y unos pocos refrescos (que igual nadie tocó, si algo hay en esta comañía es un atajo de chicheros!! jaja). Así que eso influyó también en que hubiera bastante gente haciendo buya desde la gradería.

Había, por supuesto, equipos de ralitos que hacían chocolatera, equipos decentes y unos cuantos que parece que viven de jugar esta mierda, como era de esperarse, ya para la segunda ronda quedaban muy pocos chocolateros y casi puros viciosos. Lo que sí había era variedad de nacionalidades, había gente de Suecia, Turquía, Argentina, India, Rusia y, sobra decir, Costa Rica. Tal vez hasta se me esté quedando alguno otro por fuera.

Ya las semifinales si fueron jueguillos más interesantes, y un poco más largos también, donde sí se veían unas cuantas jugadas de esas que de fijo no se aprenden en clases, sino en los bares, o teniendo un futbolín en la choza, pero esa no es la norma.

Abajo pueden ver un videillo recortado de la final, tuvimos representación latina, ahí andaba el argentino, pero los turcos les dieron al final de cuentas, así que bueno, por lo menos quedó un latino en el podio, y como era de esperarse no ganaron los gringos, estos maes nunca han sabido mucho del deporte rey. Tady už je češtinu. Už vite ja nemluvim tak moc českz, ale jest´e mužu tadz něco řikat na stolní futbal turnaj.

To bylo v práce, a ja myslim pod záštitou firmu. Tam byly mnoho týmy, ňeaky dobry, ňeaky vyborně, a taky ňeaky ne tak moc, ale byl všechny moc zábavný měl.

Taky byl tam pivo, pizza a mnoho národnosty, švédský, turecký, indický, ruský, američan a jasně Felipe a mě z kostariky .
